Our data sources
Our aviation notices come from NOTAM Info. Thank you to the people behind the service for making this information accessible. Spotter Skies organises the notices by airfield and adds summaries and highlights; those interpretations are our responsibility.
Weather forecasts are provided by MET Norway, under CC BY 4.0, and converted and summarised by Spotter Skies. Where used, supporting NATS briefing sheets are linked alongside the relevant event. Source credit does not imply endorsement of Spotter Skies.
Published information, made easier
We bring together published aviation notices, put them into everyday language and organise them by airfield, so you can spend less time searching and more time enjoying your spotting.
NOTAMs are aviation notices about activity, operating hours and restrictions. They are useful clues, but they are not a complete flight timetable.
Highlights — and the full picture we found
We highlight events we think may be of special interest. We’re still learning what makes a good highlight, and we may miss something you would enjoy.
That’s why each airfield page also lists all the current and upcoming notices we found for that base and within five miles. You can open each notice and decide for yourself.
Your spotting, organised
Favourite an airfield to put it first in your airfield list. Use Today and Coming up to see published activity across the bases, and flying alerts to hear when we identify a key event at an airfield you follow.
Weather summaries give you an idea of the wind, cloud, temperature and rain to expect during your visit.
Free to use, built for the spotting community
Spotter Skies is a free personal project, inspired by Lee’s enjoyment of watching aircraft.
The banners and links here are unpaid recommendations: friends, people and businesses I genuinely like, and groups that help spotters enjoy their passion. They are chosen because I value what they do. DigitalEmber is my own business, and its banners are also unpaid placements.
A special thank you to Dave at NOTAM Info, whose service helps make this project possible.
Know how fresh it is
The refresh strip shows when we last successfully checked the NOTAM data and when the next automatic check is due. Weather has its own forecast and check times.
We make the available information easier to understand; we cannot guarantee that an activity will happen. A quiet notice list does not mean there will be no flying.
